Openbravo : Our Community
Where do we come from?
Openbravo started as an open source project more than six years ago, under the codename Tecnicia.
Impressed by the capabilities of web-based applications, we set out to develop an enterprise management application (commonly know as ERP) that would be like no other: more robust, adaptable and easy to use than any other existing ERP system.
Obviously it had to be a web application, and it had to be open source. So we felt it was time to share our experience and give some of our own work back to the community. Today we have a stable product which is being used in production by a number of happy clients.
Our open source vision
As individuals and as a company we embrace the collaborative spirit embodied by open source, and are convinced of the transformative power it has. We have experienced it ourselves over recent years and we don't want to give up now. That's why we want to put as few limits as possible on our product, and to share our work unambiguously:
- Core license based on MPL (Mozilla Public License) to give you the maximum range of alternatives, including the right to develop non-open source derivative works.
- No hidden lock-ins. We are confident in our ability to deliver first-class, cost-efficient services.
- Open sharing of end-user, technical and functional documentation, which is released under a Creative Commons license.
It's your turn!
Your collaboration is vital to help create a community that challenges the rules of the game and transforms the way the world does business. We know that you can make a difference and also benefit from participating. Help Openbravo grow!
Now it's your turn to join in and help make Openbravo even better by:
- Helping others to install and implement Openbravo.
- Creating and improving documentation.
- Reporting bugs and proposing fixes.
- Localizing the product.
- Proposing new ideas and functionalities.
- Developing extensions or industry verticals.
