We chose Openbravo’s platform because we needed a modern POS with omnichannel capabilities and one backed by a vendor we could trust to meet the challenges of the future.

Quality and design at an affordable price
Homeware retailer Crack Hogar opened its first store in Barcelona 25 years ago and now has 11 stores spread across Catalonia. It began buying stock decorative products from manufacturers in other countries to offer on the local market at very competitive prices while still ensuring they met quality and design requirements. Today it has a wide range of references and manufactures its own product lines to be able to offer them directly without intermediaries.
The Challenges
Improve the shopping experience and accelerate the omnichannel strategy
To satisfy its increasingly demanding customers, Crack Hogar was looking for a new solution that would improve their shopping experience, as well as enable faster execution of its omnichannel strategy, in processes such as Click & Collect.
Better integration
With the growth of online business, Crack Hogar was looking for a retail platform that offered tight integration with its e-commerce platform and also with its Sage 200 ERP system, which receives end-of-day sales data.

With Openbravo, we have been able to better manage the complexity of our assortments and improve the in-store experience.

The solution
Single solution for different devices that eliminates the need for in-store servers
Reflecting the general trend in the retail sector, Crack Hogar was looking for a new solution that can easily adapt to a variety of terminals, both fixed and mobile, allowing Crack Hogar to use other devices as POS terminals if needed, alongside the traditional desktop terminals currently in use. In addition, Openbravo’s architecture avoids the need for local in-store servers, enabling significant hardware cost savings and increased IT agility.
Complete point-of-sale functionality for improved omnichannel shopping experience and omnichannel performance
Crack Hogar chose Openbravo for its comprehensive point-of-sale functionality, which provides stores and partners with a set of tools to improve customer service and shopping experience. In addition, the solution offers full support for key processes for omnichannel success such as real-time inventory management.
Ease of extension and evolution through modularity
The modular design of Openbravo Commerce Cloud has allowed Openbravo partner Practics Business Solutions to extend the standard functionality to suit Crack Hogar’s specific needs, including integration with external applications using the integration tools offered by Openbravo and existing connectors.
The results
More efficient retail operations
Since implementing Openbravo’s point-of-sale solution in its stores, Crack Hogar has achieved greater efficiency in its operations, with benefits such as reducing the time required by its employees to perform tasks, allowing them to increase their focus on improving customer service.
Improved stock control and accuracy
Openbravo has enabled Crack Hogar to adopt a more demand-driven inventory management model, as well as introduce a more sophisticated item classification model, with attributes such as colors and sizes.
Lower order preparation costs
Thanks to the Prestashop connector, online shoppers have access to the same inventory as those visiting the stores and the Click & Collect option allows them to pick up items purchased online at the chosen store, thus reducing delivery logistics costs for Crack Hogar.
