- World's largest Open Source development community spotlights Openbravo ERP -
Pamplona - October 4, 2007 - Openbravo, the leading developer of professional, web-based, open source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions designed specifically for small and medium businesses, has been selected as SourceForge's 'Project of the Month' for September from a field of more than 160,000 acclaimed projects.
SourceForge.net is the world's largest Open Source software development web site, hosting more than 160,000 projects and over 1,000,000 registered users with a centralized resource for managing projects, issues, communications, and code. By providing free hosting to Open Source software development, it provides a wide variety of services to those projects and to the wider Open Source community.
Manel Sarasa, CEO of Openbravo said: "We are obviously delighted that Openbravo has been chosen as SourceForge's latest 'Project of the Month'. Since April 2006, Openbravo has been included in the Top 10 projects across all software out of a total field of more than 160,000 projects and has continued to dominate in the ERP project category. Hosting our source code on SourceForge has allowed Openbravo to operate on an international basis from the very beginning, with the majority of our customers choosing to download Openbravo from this globally trusted development site. Moreover, SourceForge plays a pivotal role in the rapid growth of Openbravo's community and product dissemination. The ERP market is evolving, and ERP being top-ranked on SourceForge is a testament to the rapidly growing worldwide demand and spread of Open Source ERP."
Because Openbravo is hosted as a project that can be downloaded without limitations at SourceForge, the company's developer and user community has been able to participate with the company's own developers in a rolling collaborative effort, enabling Openbravo to improve and evolve organically.
