Openbravo Sponsors Barcelona Fashion Summit 2020!

2 min read

As the technologies and strategies behind modern retail mature, the Barcelona Fashion Summit this year will focus on what means to be customer-centric, and what it takes get closer to the customer in a more meaningful way.

Organized by Modaes and sponsored this year by Openbravo, the Barcelona Fashion Summit has become one of the most important events in the sector in Spain, with well over 800 industry professionals in attendance last year. The 8th edition will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Barcelona.

This year, I am looking forward to attending presentations and round tables with high-level speakers from leading fashion retailers including Inditex, Bimba y Lola, Desigual, and Mango – as well as leading consultants like Deloitte, Mckinsey, Euromonitor, and more. Like last year, I expect that the role of technology and how it has helped retailers execute their strategies successfully will be one of the recurring topics throughout the day. The program also reflects the latest topics being discussed at other retail forums, including the role of speed, the value of customer data, sustainability strategies, and Generation Z’s future expectations.

Sustainability was a prevalent issue throughout the ISPO Munich fair for the sports industry i attended last week the data such as production has doubled in the last 20 years, only 1% of clothing gets recycled, 73% goes into landfills, and retail will account for 25% of global emission by 2050 if nothing changes – is is clear that the retail industry must change and retail technology will certainly take a greater role in doing that.  (Further reading: “The Future of Circular Fashion“)

Here at Openbravo, we are always interested in understanding the trends and challenges faced in the fashion retail sector – and what strategies are being used by leading retailers to better attract and nurture new and existing customers.

If you interested talking about the technologies behind retail’s digital transformation or would you like to know about Openbravo’s experience in helping retailers meet the challenges of omnichannel retail successfully, we will be thrilled to meet up at the Barcelona Fashion Summit! Please contact my colleague, José Alarcón, Openbravo’s Director of Sales for Iberia, or myself, Xavier Places, the Director of Marketing, to set up a meeting during the the event!
