Openbravo takes center stage at Paris Retail Week

3 min read

We had a fantastic time at the 8th edition of Paris Retail Week, which was held 20-22 September, and I think I speak for all the Openbravo team when I say it was so good to be back in a live trade show after two years of hybrid and virtual events.

Paris Retail Week has become one of the flagship events on the Openbravo calendar as it allows us to meet customers and partners in France, which has become one of Openbravo’s fastest growing markets, while also learning about new technologies and trends in the retail sector.

From a business perspective, events like Paris Retail Week play an essential role in reaching out to potential clients, enabling them to get to know us a bit better and see our technology in action.

In our case, it is also a key event to showcase the latest innovations of our unified commerce platform, in all of its different solution components, such as in web and mobile point of sale, including self-service options, OMS and WMS systems, with new capabilities such as a stronger verticalization in key sectors like Fashion. Our platform flexibility has also allowed us to demonstrate our capacity to easily integrate and support new innovative shopping scenarios, such as Tap and Pay.

This year we also brought to the event our new POS for QSR, officially launched a few months ago, and currently being rolled-out in a big French restaurant chain. A solution that also created a lot of interest among visitors, including some restaurant businesses but also retailers who combine a retail and a restaurant area in their stores to deliver an enhanced experience to customers. You can see our QSR POS in action here.

We were also fortunate this year to be able to count on Norauto, one of our strategic customers, which talked about its experience with Openbravo in a joint workshop.

I was delighted by the quantity and quality of the visitors to our stand and I can report that we had productive discussions with several “heavyweight” names in the European retail sector who have projects that could become very interesting opportunities for Openbravo.

According to the Paris Retail Week organizers, seven out of every ten visitors to the show have investment projects in mind so an event like this gives us a unique opportunity to not just raise awareness but engage with decision makers and, if possible, sit down with them to talk about their specific project requirements over coffee.

And on the subject of coffee, the barista on the Openbravo stand was a huge success both with staff and the many visitors to the stand. A “truly differential value proposition” and one that, although I hate to admit it as a Frenchman, proved more popular than the champagne!

Finally, I would like to thank all those involved in helping make our stand such a success. A special thank you to judging by the large number of people who stopped by the stand. A huge amount of effort went into designing, building and staffing the stand, but the hard work was worth it as the end result was spectacular. Not surprisingly, then, that our stand was chosen by ecommercemag.fr as one of the best in this edition of Paris Retail Week.

Well done!

See you next year at PRW23!
