Extension Module : Warehouse Transactions Management

This module adds a layer of materials management control, by warehouse. Any transaction that violates the configured "allowed transactions" configuration is rejected with an appropriate error message.

Improved Operational Control

Warehouses in Openbravo may be created to represent real world physical warehouses, and also to model desired material flows. This module makes it easy to specify desired material management policies by warehouse, with automatic enforcement provided--without programming. This ability is especially useful as the number of warehouses grows over time, or as policies change.

Improved Data Quality

Formalizing material management policies within the ERP system (instead of requiring data entry personnel to learn and follow manual procedures) helps to improve the quality of the critical inventory data, and saves time by helping to avoid invalid transaction entry and subsequent tracking and correction.

This module adds a new tab to the "Warehouse and Storage Bins" window, called "Allowed Transactions", which allows each warehouse to be optionally configured to allow goods in and/or goods out transactions by transaction type. The supported transaction types include:

Goods Receipt/Shipment
Goods Movement
Goods for Production
Rejection Reception

Any transaction that violates the configured "allowed transactions" is rejected with an appropriate error message. Allowed transactions are permitted as usual, and are not modified in any way.
