In some cases the entire stack is supported; in other cases, companies choose a version that permits them to select an advanced configuration. Openbravo Appliance
Openbravo Appliance is the best choice to deploy Openbravo on the cloud, on dedicated hardware or on a dedicated virtual machine. It includes the benefits of a fine-tuned certified and fully supported stack that minimizes your maintenance costs, for those who don't require any customization of the stack. Openbravo Appliance is certified to work with the Amazon Web Services cloud.
Deploying Openbravo in the cloud is the best alternative to benefit from low, pay-as-you go hosting costs, and to get rid of hardware maintenance issues. Both the application and the back-ups can be located in the cloud and enjoy its benefits.

Fast Deployment
An ERP Installer helps users to install the Openbravo ERP software in a variety of operating systems. Other components of the stack must be installed separately.
An Ubuntu Installer guides users through the process to deploy the entire Openbravo ERP stack. Minimal technical expertise is required to install the entire Openbravo ERP solution using the Ubuntu Installer. Note that Openbravo ERP is in the Ubuntu Partner Repository.
An Appliance Installer guides users through the process to deploy the entire Openbravo ERP stack. Minimal technical expertise is required to install the entire Openbravo ERP solution using the Appliance Installer.
With a Software Appliance, all required components come "in a box." This includes the operating system, database and application - configured to deploy a fine-tuned Openbravo ERP system.
All editions can be deployed on virtual environments. VMware and Citrix XenServer virtual appliances are available for some editions.
Other hypervisors such as Parallels, KVM, or Microsoft Virtual Server can be supported.
Openbravo Appliance is certified to work with the following hardware components.
This edition includes a firewall which is configured for the need of Openbravo ERP. Further configuration can be performed from the web based administration console.
Support for Amazon EC2 and other cloud technologies is available.

Always Updated
This edition provides the same treatment to any bug in the system and comes packaged with full bug support for all components included in the software stack. Bug reports and patches can all be managed from the web based administration console or Openbravo's on-line support portal.
System Administrators using the Community Edition may find out about and manually perform ERP patching. Customers of this edition have regular access to certified maintenance updates or upgrades to new releases. This occurs as soon as they become available and allows the ERP to always remain up to date with the latest fixes. All updates or upgrades are guaranteed to have been tested by the Openbravo Team.
Openbravo Professional Subscription system administrators are sent notifications of each maintenance update or upgrade as soon as it becomes available. Where available, updates or upgrades are automatically accessible from the Web Based Administration Console.
This edition comes packaged with a web-based administration console that has been customized to perform all required set-up and maintenance tasks for Openbravo ERP, including scheduled back-ups, system updates, SSL certificate upload, firewall configuration, ... No extensive Linux knowledge or command line instructions are required. To see some screen shots, please visit our demo center.
This edition allows clients to revert back to the previous state following an upgrade or update, simply using a wizard in the web based administration console.
This edition allows clients to perform manual and scheduled system back-ups, simply using a wizard in the web based administration console. Restorations are also managed from the same administration console. Backups can be stored on the Amazon Cloud.

Operating Environment
All parts stack behind this edition used to run Openbravo ERP are certified by the manufacturer.
All parts of this edition have been tested to work together by the Openbravo Support Team.
For Openbravo Appliance, the stack includes the following: Apache HTTP Server 2.0, Apache Tomcat 5.5, Apache Ant 1.7, Sun JDK 1.5, and Linux 2.6. The stack comes pre-configured as a software appliance meaning that it is installed right out of the box. As such, Openbravo also certifies that these tools together will run an optimized solution immediately.
Depending on the edition, certain operating systems and databases are supported by Openbravo. Although the Ubuntu Stacks comes with a Postgres database, customers may optionally purchase an Oracle database from Openbravo at an additional charge.

Included Licenses
This edition includes the licenses from certain 3rd party technologies included in the appliance. For both the Ubuntu and Openbravo Appliance editions, no additional software needs to be purchased to operate the solution.
