Barcelona, 18th November, 2012 - Openbravo, the leading web-based open source business management solutions provider, today announced the successful implementation of its Openbravo for Retail solution at Itzza Pizza, a leading regional restaurant and pizza chain. Itzza Pizza has been using the solution since April 2012, and has experienced significant improvements in organizational efficiency, gaining increased visibility across key business functions such as retail operations, customer service, inventory management and finance, among others.

With an aggressive growth plan in place, Itzza Pizza had witnessed significant growth in the last few years, with two new outlets launched in the last year alone. To keep up with growth and increasing operational complexity, the organization required a comprehensive business management solution to function efficiently. The need for an integrated solution was further accentuated as the existing system infrastructure was unable to support appropriate flow and control of information. Key operational data such as purchase and sales orders were being transferred through emails, and this resulted in the unavailability of timely operational and financial information.

After a thorough evaluation of various ERP systems, Itzza Pizza chose the Openbravo for Retail Solution in January 2012. One of the key factors that helped drive this decision was Openbravo’s integrated POS, which could operate on commodity devices. Additionally, Itzza Pizza also appreciated the cutting-edge open source technology, flexibility, usability and cost-effectiveness that Openbravo provides.

Andreu Bartolí, VP of Channel Operations, said: “We are extremely happy to have Ittza pizza as one of our esteemed customers. This has certainly opened up a new market space for us in the Middle East. We feel the market is in demand of a low cost, state of the art Retail solution, and Openbravo for Retail is clearly the Retail solution for the future in the middle Middle East".

Implemented by Openbravo partner Innovation Technology Systems, the solution was implemented in less than three months and it took only four days to complete the process of implementation at the first outlet, which included preparing hardware, testing synchronization and networking infrastructure. Since then, five more outlets have been rolled out, and Itzza Pizza now tracks key data such as customer information, inventory aging, promotion efficiency and other parameters through the integrated application.

Openbravo proved to be an ideal business solution and has helped Itzza Pizza streamline their operations to be competitive in a dynamic business environment.

Mr. Ziad Bushnaq, MD Itzza Pizza, said: “Openbravo has made our retail operations simple by providing a solution that is easy to handle and scale up. The best part is that everyone from our cashiers to the delivery boy is effortlessly using the Openbravo solution. Innovation Technology Systems did a tremendous job by implementing the solution well ahead of the scheduled delivery day, thereby allowing us to focus on growth of the company”.

Businesses today need access to comprehensive management systems that can seamlessly integrate business processes with technology to gather, manage and use vital information to deliver greater productivity and enhance competitive advantage. Openbravo has certainly delivered a strong platform for Itzza Pizza to continue on its growth path of opening one outlet every two months in 2012, serving high quality fresh products in a fast food environment.
