Openbravo Green - A new generation platform proposal
Openbravo presents a proposal for its new generation platform codenamed Openbravo Green, the third major release of Openbravo. This release will be built on the strengths of the current release, improving those areas where limitations to the current model have been encountered.
Openbravo, as a leader in open source ERP, has developed a proposal for the future creation of Openbravo new platform architecture. As a dedicated member of the open source community we want to share it with our active community and we would appreciate your feedback and invite you to participate in it.
The new platform proposal keeps using the application dictionary and the Model/View/Controller design and adds new capabilities. Openbravo Green has been designed to facilitate the development of extensions, pluggins and verticals. Furthermore, it aims to be complete database independent and to simplify the interoperability with third party applications.
Openbravo Green is fully open source, operating system independent, standards based, flexible and extensive. It is based on proven technologies like Spring, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat, Apache Ant, DWR, Dojo, JasperReports, PostgreSQL and MySQL. It is also based on international standards like XHTML, XML, Java EE, Java portlets, SOAP, ISO3166, ISO369 and ISO4217.
The proposal is available for reviewing and for getting feedback from our active community until 1st of August 2007. Once the design principles get frozen, we plan to continue with the detailed architecture design documents, which will also be a subject of discussion during a period of time.
For giving your feedback, please post a message at Openbravo Green SourceForge Forum.
More detailed information could be found in the Design principles for Openbravo Green document and in the Openbravo Green White Paper.
We encourage you to share your comments. Your feedback is so important for us!
