Technical Support Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a Technical Support Analyst, with 1 year of relevant experience, to join our support organization, providing second level problem resolution to our customers and partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in object-oriented languages, application testing and web-based architectures. This is a key position that provides software engineers an excellent opportunity to acquire functional and domain expertise on Openbravo's product suite. Solid career path allows for moving on to mainstream development, consulting or other relevant groups within the company.
Position responsibilities
The function of Technical Support Analyst has the following key areas of responsibility:
  • Provide technical support and services to our customers and partners, as well as troubleshoot the reported issues.
  • Remotely access and monitor customer applications.
  • Investigate 2nd level customer support issues.
  • Provide problem resolution and communicate with partners and customers via phone, email or other means on an as-needed basis.
  • Support international clients.
  • Act in the capacity of a senior customer support engineer coordinating activities between support, development and consulting.
  • Install, configure and tune Openbravo software and related components.
  • Participate in program design and testing if required.
  • Set up software configuration control environments.
  • Set up software development environments.
Position requirements
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience developing enterprise web based applications will be a plus.
  • Experience with trouble ticketing systems.
  • 1+ years experience with (at least some of the following):
    • Java programming.
    • knowledge of JSP, HTML, JDBC and servlets.
    • knowledge of J2EE and all tiers of an enterprise web application.
    • Working knowledge of programming concepts including MVC architecture.
  • Understanding of the software engineering processes.
  • Good written and oral communications skills in English.
  • Proven ability to meet/exceed deadlines.
  • Experience with the LAMP stack and open source platforms in general.
